Privacy & Cookie Notice
Last updated July 14, 2026
Nature's Pond is the master-brand website of Koenders Water Solutions Inc. ("Koenders," "we," "us"). This notice explains what limited information we collect when you visit naturespond.ca or naturespond.com, how we use it, the cookies we set, and the choices and rights you have. We've kept it short because this site collects very little.
The short version
- This is a front-door website that helps you reach the right Nature's Pond product site. It has no accounts, no shopping cart, and no sign-up forms.
- We use a few small first-party cookies to remember your region and your choices — nothing that tracks you across other websites.
- We measure visits with privacy-friendly analytics that does not use cookies and does not identify you.
- We do not use advertising or social-media tracking, and we never sell or rent your personal information.
Information we collect
Because this site has no forms or accounts, we don't ask you for personal information such as your name or email address. The only information involved is technical, and limited to what's needed to serve and improve the site:
- Region preference — a small cookie that remembers whether you chose our Canadian or U.S. site, so we don't redirect you away from your choice.
- Approximate location (country) — our hosting provider derives the country your visit comes from using your IP address, so we can show you the right regional site. We use this at the time of your visit and do not store it to identify you.
- Aggregated usage data — anonymous, aggregated measurements such as page views and the general region of visits. This is collected without cookies and cannot be traced back to you.
- Server logs — like virtually all websites, our hosting provider processes basic technical data (such as IP address and browser type) transiently to deliver the site securely and prevent abuse.
Cookies we use
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use only a handful of strictly necessary, first-party cookies — set by this website itself to make it work and to remember your choices. We do not use advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking cookies of any kind.
- np-region — remembers the region (Canada or U.S.) you explicitly selected, so you aren't redirected away from it. Stored up to 1 year.
- np-geo — records the region your visit maps to, so we can offer to switch you to the right site if you're viewing the other one. Stored up to 1 year.
- np-geo-ack — remembers that you dismissed the "looks like you're in…" prompt, so we don't show it again. Stored up to about 6 months.
These cookies hold only a short region code (such as "ca" or "us") — no personal details. Because they are strictly necessary for the site's regional routing and your preferences, they don't require consent under applicable law. You can still block or delete cookies in your browser settings; if you do, the site may not remember your region.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand overall traffic — for example, how many people visit and which regions they come from. It is privacy-friendly by design: it does not set cookies, does not build a profile of you, and does not track you across other websites. The data is aggregated and anonymous.
How we use information
- To route you to the correct regional site and remember that choice.
- To keep the site secure, available, and working properly.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or automated decisions that affect you.
Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We rely on a small number of service providers who process data only to operate the site on our behalf:
- Vercel Inc. — our website hosting and content-delivery network, and our cookieless analytics provider. Vercel is based in the United States, so some technical data may be processed there.
- Sanity — the content management system that stores the site's text and images (not visitor data).
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Links to other sites
This site links out to our product and partner sites — including our pond, cleaning, and municipal brands and our parent company, Koenders Water Solutions. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this notice does not cover them. Please review the privacy policy on each site you visit.
Your choices
- Region — use the region selector in the site header to switch between our Canadian and U.S. sites at any time.
- Cookies — you can delete or block cookies through your browser settings; most browsers also let you clear stored data for a specific website.
- Tracking signals — we don't sell or share your personal information or track you across sites, so there is nothing to opt out of. We honour recognized browser privacy controls where they apply.
Your privacy rights
We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws, including Québec's Law 25. Subject to those laws, you have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and request access to it;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent to our use of your information, where consent applies; and
- make a complaint about how we handle your information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or, for Québec residents, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
Data retention and security
The cookies described above expire on the timelines listed, and you can clear them at any time. Aggregated analytics data is not tied to you. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards — including reputable hosting and encrypted (HTTPS) connections — to protect information, though no method of transmitting data over the internet is completely secure.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general, adult and business audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date shown at the top of this page, and material changes will be reflected here.
